Night lights

Filed Under Photography | 16 comments

I have become fascinated by light.  Light of all kinds, whether in the middle of the day (ugggh bad bad light for faces and shadows) or early morning, soft misty  light; or night lights.

There’s always a story to tell it seems when an image is taken in the dark. Something left untold.

Even a quiet whisper to it.

The lines and colors all seem to change in the dim light.

Moods change in the dark.

Leaves one to think…and think some more.

Find the beauty around you.

  1. I so agree…love these! I stepped out on my porch the other night to get a shot of my Christmas tree, and felt it! ;D

Hi Claudia, I love your night photos. Now that I have found the night feature on my camera, I’m on it. Of course my camera and knowledge doesn’t ‘hold a candle’ to yours.

It s so late and I am going to bed. Goodnight my dear friend.
Love you bunches and miss you too. I love remembering the fun we had in Oct.

I’m wanting to straighten out the shades in your first shot : )
The third one with the water spouts reminds me of our spa trip in Mexico. They had those all around a rock wall. It was really cool.
The bedroom shot, I assume it’s a bedroom, looks peaceful, that’s all I can say about it. Very peaceful.
And I’m so glad Jeanne found her “night feature” HA! I keep telling her to put her glasses on, lol.
This is completely different than all your other pics sista. I have a hard time with night shots. Randy and Colt just put up my “pearl lights” on my trees outside. They are LED and give a very pretty effect. So I might just try and take some pics, but first I have to go and buy 10 more strings for my BIG MAPLE TREE. The girls got to see it this summer, and hopefully you will too one day soon.
    Love you
    Love me

well, I’M THINKING…the less light, the sexier I look (tee, hee!!!)
    What great photos.
Where were all these taken at??
There really is something magic about Low Light….and shadows.

  5. wendy says:

ha ha ha…how funny that Claudie would notice that the one lampshade on the first shot needed straightening.
    so like her.

    Hang in there sista.

Ah so lovely. I too have become fascinated by night shots. Yours are just great. Something about the bedroom shot just looks so peaceful!!

  8. Claudie says:

You are the BEST photographer and you could sell snow to the eskimos!!!
I’m still lovin that bedroom shot too.

  9. Love the differences in the lightings in this post Claudia! Reflections from the light in the darkness is more subdued…I love that.

Running behind in my blog surfing … exquisite night shots … not easy to do. My favorite has to be the fountain.

Love all of these but especially the one of the window! Just makes me want to peek inside and see more. Such beautiful light in all of these shots.

  13. I could use a tutorial on photographing in various lights. You are very, very good at that! Maybe you could give me some hints!

Claudia, I’m lovin’ these night shots. Based on one of the comments above, I’m going to have to check out my camera for a night shot mode!
