♥Welcome to Friday~~ Finding Beauty ♥

Dried Pinks RS Framed

This year, when I decided I would start the Friday~~ Finding Beauty — my goal of course was to create a successful meme– but it was a bit on the selfish side for me.

Like many, the negative voices in my head have played too large a  part in my life– often times I felt I was negative– thus when we focus on the negative we have more negative in our lives.

And simply the more we focus on the positive and beautiful the more our life becomes positive– you get the idea, especially for those of you who have read The Secret.

Albert Einstein said– “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of INSANITY.”

Change ISN’T easy. I needed skills that would help me change.

Three ways to motivate change:

1– Pain– When pain of remaining the same overrides the pain to change.

2– Discipline— Do what you have to do, when you have to do it, whether you feel like it or not.

3– Understanding, that you will spend your life in pain. The pain of discipline or the pain of regret for not changing.

So– I decided to CHANGE how I looked at my life and become more grateful. Create an ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE.

Bill Gates said “In Business and Life, you don’t get what you WANT only what you expect!”

Studies have shown that one has to repeat an action 21 times before it starts to become a habit— So I challenged myself every time I stopped at a stop light to look around and purposefully look for some BEAUTY. I have been doing it for over a month now and I laugh at some of the things I see.

This week I pulled up behind a bus full of kids. As boys will sometimes do, they started sticking their tongues out and crossing their eyes… I laughed. Then I remembered I had my camera with me…

I think this was a great example of what BEAUTY is– it was there…and I captured it.

Thanks to you darling boys, who made my day!

I almost didn’t find your comment form, I’m glad I did. I enjoyed your post.  Those boys are really full of life, they seem so happy! I appeciate what you said about gratitude and attitude,  as a matter of fact I just started a Wednesday Gratitude meme this week. You can read all about it on my 1/30 post.  I hope you’ll join us sometime.
    Have a great weekend!

    Hellow Sweet Claudia…
Oh I love the flowers with the satin ribbon. So beautiful. You have such a wonderful way of capturing a moment, at the perfect still in time.

I am having so much fun with our Friday meme. What a wonderful thing you have given us, to see beauty in a new way.

I love the picture of the boys on the bus. Boys being boys. I tell you, aren’t they sweet? You gotta love them. One moment in time.

Have a beautiful Friday sweetie. I think of you every time I click my camera now. Thank you.

Country hugs and so much love…Sherry

  6. Hi Claudia!

Wonderful post today.  These last few years have been filled with some of the most frightening and ugly situations that I have ever had to deal with. At one point I had to let go and make a habit out of daily seeing the good and positive in my life. some days it is not easy and I slip and let tings really get to me but, i have more days that are positive than those that are negative. I actually have to reinforce this path of thinking every single day.

  7. Elisa says:

Thanks for reminding us that beauty is everywhere! Love the picture of the boys!

  8. DeniseMarie says:

awwww, gotta love a woman that says exactly what you are thinking and living out also.  Children are so beautiful and so full of life.  TFS!  I’m going thru the same process so I’m glad to have found your meme.

  9. Jay says:

Those boys are just so full of life, aren’t they?  They’re great!  And well done for capturing the moment – it’s perfect.
My life hasn’t exactly been filled with beauty this week, but you’re right. Attitude is all-important.  I’m working on getting back my positive feelings and the energy to start doing stuff again!  Mr Sid is a great motivator, as you’ll see by my contribution this week. 🙂

  10. Sheila says:

Oh, I needed to hear this today, Claudia.  Thanks so much…

    Hi Claudia,
I just copied and printed out the list of three ways to motivate change and have stuck it on my refrigerator door where I can read it often 🙂
Thank you for posting the picture of the cute boys on the bus and your thoughts!
    Kindly, ldh

  15. Regina says:

    Such a cute captures!
    Nice motivation!
    Happy weekend.

  16. Karen Cox says:

Claudia, This is such a beautiful post, and those flowers are gorgeous.  Your comment made me chuckle.  You know I wanted to join finding beauty again this week, and was swept away by another job my daughter volunteered me for.  I love that she is supportive of my work, but she is forever volunteering me to design things for her friends.
I was asked to design a log for a customer of hers, and it led to much work and a long lunch yesterday besides.  So needless to say, I missed this event, but I’ll be back Friday.
    Have Happy weekend.  Karen

  17. Kathy says:

It’s been a horrible week, and I’ve been too busy to come up with a post. But I love visiting this meme, it always lifts my spirits and makes me grateful for the beauty in our everyday lives. I adore these pictures of the boys on the bus.  What a smilemaker, isn’t it great that kids are such natural hams!
