Welcome to Friday~~Finding Beauty
or better known as FFB  :)

I was so excited with everyone who joined with us last week. Thank you and Thank you AGAIN!

Each of your posts inspired me.

This week I received such a sweet email– and with Susan’s permission I am going to share it.

Dear Claudia,
I have been reading and watching your blog for months now. I have really enjoyed your photography and sense of humor. But when you announced your new meme I was a bit tired and thought, I just didn’t have time for one more commitment.

You said two things that stuck with me. 1- You said we didn’t have to commit to doing this weekly — only if we found something we thought we could share. And 2– you said Beauty is there whether we notice it or not. If we take the time to notice, our life takes on an enhanced version. It’s no longer typical, it’s lovely and can be extraordinary.

I kept saying that quote over and over in my head. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Well, it has change already. Saying that quote has changed how I look at my life. It is beautiful and I am noticing it more.

I don’t know if I will participate with you every Friday, but I will try. Just know that you have started something in one person and I thank you for helping me see the beauty in my life and paying attention to it.

Sincerely,
Susan

Wow… I was touched and very thankful that she had taken the time out of her day to share those feelings .

bouquet again RS

With all the snow around me lately, even enjoying it like I do; I’m posting some lovely flowers.

 Aren’t they beautiful?

But what is most importantly beautiful to me was the thought behind them. My sweet sister in Montana sent these to my mother for her birthday. When “they” say it’s the thought that counts– well it sure does.

Yellows RS framed

I even bought myself some yummy flowers to brighten my new “home” — sure enough they did their job!

Dang if I can’t find it– but I read a blog post this week where a woman was taking great shots of natural ways the world SMILES at her… it was such fun. (if any of you know the blog let me know and I will credit her) It made me think!

When you change the way you look at things — The THINGS you look at change

Wayne Dyer

Fruit Smile

I am serious as a heart attack when I say once I unbagged my groceries I looked down at this smile! I had read that keeping bananas from touching one another keeps them fresher… well they smile pretty well too!

Please stop by Beverly’s Pink Saturday and join in the fun over there too!

Hello Claudia, what a lovely letter to you.  Your photography is breathtaking.  I love the snow scene you just posted.  These flowers are lovely.  I love a fresh bouquet of flowers on the table.  I am going away for a long weekend, so my post is up early and I combined it with Pink Saturday.
Have a lovely weekend, and thanks for reminding us all to look for the beauty around us. Karen

  2. ellen b says:

Ahh it is good to see the beauty that is ours to enjoy everyday if we just open our eyes and hearts to it! Hoping you have a beautiful week…

  3. Sherry says:

    Oh Claudia Sweetie…
I love the flowers, and I really love the smilie face in your fruit bowl. It doesn’t get much better than that for “Beauty”. You are a breath of fresh air sweetie. You open my eyes to things that I might normally walk right on by. I thank you for that. Seeing beauty in all things, and not just where we might normally look to see beauty, like in a garden.

It is true, when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. Thank you for sharing with me.  Have a beautiful Friday tomorrow.

Country hugs and so much love…Sherry

  4. Jill says:

I consider flowers to be one of THE most beautiful things God ever created. What would this world be without them?

  5. luna miranda says:

what a lovely letter from Susan.  your flowers are beautiful, and despite the snow outside, your home looks so warm and welcoming.

  6. Nancy says:

OOHH – love the flowers – we should all buy fresh bouquets the second our Christmas tree comes down!  Your condo is looking wonderful.  I’ll be following your progress.  Really a sweet letter and I find the same thing – looking for beauty in the everyday things that surround me.  Thanks for the prompt!  So Happy FFB to you!  Hugs, Nancy

  7. Claudie says:

Well dear friend. I started with great intentions for your FFB. I was interrupted so many times that it’s now 1am and not half way there. I was taking everyone on a tour of my house. I’ve had some requests. My beauty, our home. So I might save it, or not.
Sorry girlfriend. But I’m here for you and admiring your pretty flowers and letter. I feel the same.
    Love Ya
    Love Claudie

  8. Pat says:

Claudia your flowers are so pretty! Flowers in winter are always more appreciated as they speak of Spring!
That was a lovely letter from Susan..and everything she said is so true :-)

    Have a good weekend!

    Hugs,  Pat

  9. Jay says:

Found you through Long Island Daily photo, via Mille Fiori Favoriti!  I love the idea of this meme. I might not join in every week, but I’ve added you to my news feed.  :)
Love the banana-y smile!  Did you know the reason you separate them is because ripe bananas give off a gas which helps to ripen the others,  and for this reason they can help to ripen other fruit too?  Best way to keep ALL your fruit for longer is to keep the bananas out of the fruit bowl altogether .. but then you wouldn’t have been smiled at, would you?

  10. So thoughtful of Susan to write you such a lovely note, I find beauty in bloggers everyday.
While I love the flowers, I must say that your smiling produce made me laugh and “they” say that’s the best medicine.
I haven’t come across the Smiles post, but have you seen the American Express commercial that has photos of smiles in everyday common things? I love it so much that I don’t fast forward through it, I watch it every time.
    Have a beautiful week!

  11. Isn’t it nice when you discover you’ve given somebody to think about – and it’s a nice thing?!
All your flowers are beautiful – nothing beats fresh flowers in the dead of winter. They brighten and warm the heart.
    Love your banana smile LOL

  12. Molly says:

Claudia, the flowers are so lovely and yes to me it is the thought that counts, these lovely flowers helped bring beauty to your Mom. I agree with Susan, your post has caused me to look at my world totally different. I see beauty where before I saw, just things and people. I agree that if something brings you joy, then it is beautiful.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
    Molly

  13. Terri Smith says:

Claudia, my apologies.  I’m technologically-challenged.  I tried twice to participate in your wonderful Finding Beauty Friday celebration..My name, Terri Smith, came up highlighted “twice” on your list of entries.  The “second” went through correctly I think.  I hope to do better next time.  Blessings and not so much sunshine today, Terri

Hi Claudia, I see your gogeous photos every day and very rarely comment, sorry. I now have my own blog and realize how important it is to let the author know how much you enjoy their blog. I am here to tell you, I look forward to each and ever visual journey you take me on. You have taken some gorgeous shots, I especially love the snowy pictures. I have a post on my blog today about the 5 senses for your home and flowers are definitely one of the elements for enjoyment by sight and smell, very important. If you have a chance I think you might enjoy it. Kathysue

Hello Claudia, I found you by way of Mary at OnePerfectBite. Finding Beauty is indeed a wonderful topic. Even on the grayest day all we have to do is “look”, simply look outside ourselves and what is immediately around us. Beautiful photos! Thank you, Diana

I found your blog by way of Beverly at How Sweet the Sound and came over for your Pink Saturday post.  It is not published yet, but I wanted to say that I am glad I came by.  I would love to take part in your Friday Meme next week.
It’s funny, now that I have gotten older (late 40′s) I find myself seeing so many more things and finding beauty in all of them.  I try to make it a daily habit to simply walk around the neighborhood and seeing the beauty in it.  Just simply sitting back now and enjoying the beauty of my home and family.  It’s funny how as we age we see and learn so much more.
The flowers are just gorgeous but I must say the fruit made me break out in a smile.  The colors are awesome and so eye catching in the display.  Just another thing that I’ve started to notice.

  27. Sheila says:

Claudia, how lovely!  I am going to have to join you some Friday for this meme.  I enjoyed reading this.  Your flowers are lovely, too.

    Happy Pink Saturday…
    XO,
    Sheila :-)

Such a lovely letter..and what a lovely and touching post. You’ve certainly given me something to think about.. sometimes we all need a shakeup in the way we think and view things. thank you for sharing…

  29. Charlene says:

Good luck with your new event finding beauty!  You are right that it is ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL around us.  We just have to see it.  I would rather have rose colored glasses & look for the beautiful than to wander in a dark ugly world wouldn’t you?  OF COURSE!  And speaking of beauty, those snow photos are divine!  Thank you for sharing.  Charlene

  30. char says:

Hi Claudia, you just never know how something we say will hit someone when we put it down on a blog. You were an inspiration to a stranger and that is priceless, what a wonderful compliment to you. We all should lead with our hearts and not our minds. It’s a very busy world out there and easy to get caught up in it all. Lovely post today dear friend, Happy Pink Saturday, Char

  31. Katherine says:

Hiya!  Found you via Jay of the Depp Effect… I periodically do a “Beauty in Unexpected Places” and can guarantee that it really does make you ‘see’ better, and happier!
Unfortunately I read the instructions too fast and I think I’ve made a blue, but at the least I’ve had my comment here!
