Some questions to ponder

Filed Under flowers | 39 comments

This week in my photography group we had the challenge to really get out and find some wonderful Spring flowers —  This group is AMAZING and I find them so inspiring.

Amidst my flower postings I am going to share a wonderful email I recieved from one of my oldest and dearest friends.  (Thanks Betty)

This week really helped me to see everyday … everywhere BEAUTY.  Ponder what your days are like?

The Charles Schulz Philosophy

(This is marvelous! Scroll thru slowly and read carefully to receive
and enjoy full effect.)

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.
You don’t have to actually answer the questions.

Just ponder them.

Just read straight through and you’ll get the point.

 1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4 Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies..

Awards tarnish..

Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money…or the most awards.

They simply are the ones who care the most.

  35. Claudia,

For years, I’ve had this framed on my desk and read it often. It is a gentle reminder of what matters. Your photographs are magnificent. I agree with the above comment, you should consider posting a tutorial once a week.

    Your Friend,

  36. Hi Claudia,

Back to tell you about Corel Painter Essentials 4. When I purchased my Bamboo pen set, it came with Photoshop Elements 8 and Corel Painter. I am using Photoshop Elements 8 now, and love it.

Corel is something amazing. You literally load an image, determine to use it to paint, choose your brush, paper and type of painting i.e. oil painting. Then the hard work happens, you click on start. It paints it automatically for you. I just love the look. I use watercolor brushes, and choose oil painting or classical oil on a rough canvas paper.

I am a painter first and photographer second, so I love the painterly quality using Corel. Bamboo is also wonderful, I have used their pens for years now. I use it instead of a mouse, and it allows you to get into tiny corners.

Have a great day. We had Tornados hit here in Massachusetts last night. Devastated Springfield and there were four deaths. Our storm started at 5PM and lasted until 10PM last night.

  37. wendy says:

The photos…and those thoughts were beautiful. and so, so, SO true.
It is those daily, simple people and gestures that enrich and bless our lives.
    and are NEVER forgotten.
I still wish you were coming to Claudies this summer. I would have so loved meeting you.

  38. Sue says:

Claudia, Your amazing photos speak volumes about beauty. You truly have captured nature at some of its best. And I love your “lesson,” too. hugs, Sue

  39. jeanne says:

Hi Claudia, The flower photos are stunning. The questions were interesting and the second set are definitely the important ones. Lessons in life that make you realize the importance of the answers we CAN remember. A lovely post with a wonderful message.
    Hugs, Jeanne
