Falling — not quite

Filed Under Fall | 13 comments

I am participating in a class — today’s assignment was to choose a shot that reflects the word FALLEN…  Thus the above. I pictured a wicked wind blowing these off the trees– or maybe the squirrels had acorn fight!

To find “Fall” I headed to one of my favorite gardens thinking I would find all sorts of fall dull, drab  and changing colors.

Quite the contrary!  Look at the flowers — still blooming and showing off their vibrancy.

This garden is tended by a lot of ground keepers (who obviously love their job!)… this place hardly had a fallen leaf on the grass. (still well mowed and clipped) But in the back ground beyond the bench you can see a hint of the changing colors.

On the back wall — some changes in the ivy and leaves.

The really fun thing about our outing was — we were the only ones there (besides all the grounds keepers who were planting fall bulbs and pansies)  It was so quiet.

Participating in a photo class gets us out and about … seeking for specific items!

I am having so much fun– give it a try some time.

This darling little house is still full of purples!!  Even though the resident is ready for fall — note the fall wreath.  🙂

Lastly, coming from the store, I noted a glorious spot in front of the entrance of a apartment complex!  Look at the colors pop!

Do you think it hasn’t been cold enough?  Will we just not have a dynamic fall?  I’ m just not sure how all that photosynthesis stuff works– it’s been a couple of days since I was in Science class.  🙂

Now’s your time to share with us YOUR beauty… Please be sure to link back to us and leave a comment!

Have the Best weekend!

Oh Claudia…I am drinking in these photos…so gorgeous.  I want to live where the flowers can look like that this time of year….we’re so dead around here.

    Hi Claudia
I like the acorn photo and that really pretty house! The garden was also so colorful and beautiful.
I took a photography class recently and finally learned how to take photos on my camera’s manual settings. It was fun to experiment and learn new things.

  4. beautiful photos, aww  I love all those colors.  You know i was having the same thought about fall and flowers. My small garden on my terrace has pretty much dried up so then the weather turned from cold and dreary and is now warm again, I have seen seeds sprouting and I’m so worried because I know it will get cold then they will freeze.   have a wonderful weekend.

  5. These are absolutely stunning photos of Fall! Each one of them is a joy to see..

  6. Beautiful!  That house with all the purples — how charming.  I want to visit there!
Some autumns we keep our annuals  vibrant until after Halloween.  Not this  year — they are folding their tents early — weeks sooner than usual.  I don’t know why but I suspect here it’s the very hot and dry summer; they just don’t have the strength to go on, poor little things.
So I REALLY e njoyed seeing these shots!

I can see what that is a favorite place. I loved all your bright fall colors so coordinated my thumbnail on the link.
At a wedding this weekend, so I’ll be around to visit early next week.

    Good Morning Claudia Sweetie…
Oh what a beautiful share this morning. I could have taken my book and sat on that bench and read for hours. With nobody around how peaceful it must have been. I can feel a cool breeze blowing, I can hear the gardeners laughing as they pass by. I can hear the cameras clicking as you students capture FALL. How beautiful this share is, how beautiful undeed.”
I also love the pops of color in front of the sign. It definitely says “HAPPY”. And that little house with the Fall wreath, how very beautiful. A gorgeous share sweet friend.
Trying to get myself back into the swing of things. I promise this week to get back up and running on Finding Beauty for Friday.
I pray you are well sweet friend. Still NO VOICE.  I believe that is my answer, quit asking why? And just starting asking, What is it you want me to do? I am working on it.
Have a beautiful weekend my sweet friend. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

Hey Claudia….my name is Wendy.  I am one of Claudie’s “gals” who she is inviting to her pink cottage next summer.  So I thought I would take time and visit each of you girls over the next while and get to know you all better….so that if we are indeed able to all hook up, it’ll seem just like a gathering of old friends.

I used to live in SLC for 28 years before moving back up here to Canada.  West Jordan to be specific.  Were those pictures from Thanksgiving point…..?? or the park (and the name is escaping me cause that’s what happens when you get old) that’s more in downtown SLC area?

I used to work as a court clerk at the CourtHouse on State Street…..for 14 years.

anyway, enough of that.  Your photography is beautiful.  I suck at taking pictures.  Fall is a glorious time of year, but unfortunately here the leaves have all but been blown off the trees now and I am afraid..AFRAID…winter is poking it’s nose in where it doesn’t belong.

I think I’m a little late in commenting aren’t I girlfriend? I see Wendy introduced herself. Make sure you check her blog, she’s really really funny, and some days you just need to laugh out loud don’t you?
I know I was here a few times this week, but comments interrupt my commenting. Would you tell everyone to stop that? LOL
LOVE your pics this week. So happy that you enjoyed your classes. LOVE the entrance to your building. Colours are spectacular.
Wait till you see the one’s Randy and I captured while with Sister Lolotte on Monday. It was our Thanksgiving weekend, so very fun indeed.
Gosh it will be Friday again in 48 hours. Are you ready?
    Love You
