As long as I can remember I have been a cloud watcher… even a cloud chaser; trying to find that perfect perch to watch a new painting unfold.

Dark clouded skies seduce me. They draw me in, wanting to get closer.
If, as I am caught in the movement of the dark and light textures, there is a thunder clap, all the more appealing. ABOVE: Montana morning storm rolls in.

And the Thunder rolls – look how the colors come alive. (SOC–straight out of the camera)

My best friend Linda(I think we had to be the old age of 9) had the perfect cloud watching backyard. It was a sloped grassy hill where we could lay for hours finding horses, cats, castles, dragons and Indian Chiefs (mostly they are in profile)– it was a never ending list. “can you see that old man?” I would ask her. “nope– where– show me.” One day she found one that looked exactly like her grandma who had a very large rear end. Holding my sides laughing…I squeaked out …”you said BUTT!” (Do you see the Indian Chief ABOVE?)

Whether they are billowy against a perfect blue sky or slate grey or autumns’ gold– they are mesmerizing.

I promise– just as I finished taking this shot tonight, I noticed the Mama sheep and her baby lambs. The storm had just finished. Look how close they hold to her. I’m sure they are very puzzled by the funny woman taking their family portrait.

A colorful Serendipitous find.

Then there is always the GIFT– the Promise.

“God puts rainbows in the clouds so that each of us-in the dreariest and most dreaded moments-can see a possibility of hope,” ~~ Maya Angelou
Its official — I am hooked on CLOUDS — thanks to Julia at Hooked on Houses for hosting today’s assignment. Check her out– such fun!

Since January 1st 2010 -- I have been celebrating finding Beauty in our every day lives. Stay in the Day... be in the moment. Don't wait to live your life.
Stop and make a habit to find the Beauty and you will be amazed at how Beautiful your life is. Be thankful and remember:
"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." Dyer

I love your cloud pics! You’ve done a great job at capturing so many different moods. Well done!!!
Beautiful pictures!
We’ve had several storms lately with some pretty neat clouds!
Really beautiful! I love big dramatic clouds too. I think I have more photos of clouds than anything else.
So, I can see a guy with big muscle-y arms, in a seated position, looking left.
But also, sort of in the top center, I can see most of a man’s face, looking right at us – is that him??
This is fun – I’d much rather lie on my back and cloud spot all day, than go to work.
Oh I agree! I am fascinated with clouds. My girls and I love to look at the big, white, billowy ones and wonder what it would be like to lay on one and just sink in. As if we were characters in a Winnie the Pooh story. Love the pictures! Lisa~
Beautiful dreamy clouds! We visited the smokey mountains last month, and the clouds there were amazing!
I like the big billowy clouds too, lately we have had so many ‘rain clouds’, we could really use a little sunshine! Everything is certainly green and pretty though. . .You are really good with camera and words and thoughts!
What beautiful pictures!! I love clouds, too. Karen
Claudia, All of these photos are just fantabulous! And if they are ALL un-enhanced, they are even that much better. I think froophing them up (not a word, but you know what I mean) is a bit of a cheat. Anyway, you did a great job capturing the moods of the sky up above.

I’m a day or so late getting to all of my reads, it’s been a LONG week….
Beautiful photos, brings back childhood memories of laying in the summer grass watching the clouds drift by
)
Isn’t the world a delightful place? It just takes a moment to look up and see a sight like theses clouds to remind us what a wonderful planet it is we call home. Cathy
I was noticing beautiful tall clouds with dark bottoms on a drive today. Then we turned toward home and drove into a sky full of black clouds! The downpour was so intense we could barely see. We had to sit in the car in our door yard for ten minutes before we dared to get out. Saw one of our cats streak out from under the parked car as we drove up!
I love this post
Your cloud pictures are fabulous and your words that go along with the pictures are just perfect. And yes, I see the Indian chief
Thanks for letting me know that you enjoyed my turquoise post.
