It’s been too long since I have posted to my old friend “dipityroad”, and decided today was going to be the day I changed that.
New jobs and new abodes and some life changes left me thinking I didn’t have time to post. Yet in hind sight I found that while I try not to mention too many personal things here, none the less, when I reread my blog posts at least I kept my promise to myself to notice the every day and beauty around me. When I didn’t post I found that while I am certain I noticed the beautiful I didn’t mark time.
I sat next to a run off pond, and while there wasn’t too many green grasses or leaves on these particular trees, the birds singing and the ever so soft breeze lead me to know it’s that time of rebirth again.
These beauties kept me spell bound.
Then I made my way down closer to the valley floor where warmer weathers has lead to blossoms everywhere.
This purposeful outing reminded me that the definition of serendipity is a “happy accident” — so as I went out purposefully the universe led me to spots where I found these glorious accidents.
Even this little guy who seemed to be the newest “got milk” advertisement model, paused a moment for his portrait.
Especially up close and personal.
Welcome to Friday~~ Finding Beauty
This is a weekly get together where we celebrate the beauty we see around us and within ourselves.
This week– thanks BIG TIME — to Beverly from How Sweet the Sound— She has so graciously featured me for Pink Saturday—

This week in downtown SLC they blocked off the streets so that local artists could show off their talent. Luckily it didn’t rain and these fun presentations could last through the weekend. Music selection: Peter Pan’s Flight.
The focus was intent. The air was quiet and warm. You could almost hear the buzzing of creativity yet very few spoke.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson

Long Friday for me…
I’m sure I have mentioned I work as a Design Consultant for a National Home builder. I love my job and the wonderful people I have the opportunity to work with. Some days are long though… and today one of them. I guess I was sort of having a bit of a pity party.
I was heading home up I-15– pretty busy traffic, when I noticed a young man in the car next to me beating on his steering wheel and flailing his arms and screaming (of course I couldn’t hear what he was saying, but I am pretty sure they were some colorful words) — the car in front of him had another younger man in it and he was just as irritated and was looking in his rear view mirror screaming and flailing his arms all about too!
I am quite aware that this was a very dangerous situation–
BUT honestly all I could do was bust out laughing — I mean laugh HARD and loud (ok,maybe I even snorted but no one was there so I won’t admit to that) and I said to myself — “Claudia those boys are having a MUCH worse day than you!! Snap out of this!!”
So, I took myself to one of my local hang outs. Some people hang out at bars or pubs… me… I walk gardens…(yes i know BoooHOOORing) But they lift me up! With my i-pod plugged in I was listening to fantastic orchestration. Some how it seems just as the music begins to swell I would round a corner to find quite by happenstance, a perfect moment in time just ready for me to capture. Serendipity— Nudge nudge — hence the name 🙂
I know many of you are weary of flower photos, but I know when the snow is falling, in a couple of months from now, I will long for more flowering days.
Borrowing some Lyrics from Patti Griffin — Heavenly Day
Oh heavenly day, all the clouds blew away
Got no trouble today with anyone
The smile on your face I live only to see
It’s enough for me, baby, it’s enough for me
Oh, heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day
Tomorrow may rain with sorrow
Here’s a little time we can borrow
Forget all our troubles in these moments so few
All we’ve got right now, the only thing that
All we really have to do
Is have ourselves a heavenly day
Lay here and watch the trees sway
Oh, can’t see no other way, no way, no way
Heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day
No one at my shoulder bringing me fears
Got no clouds up above me bringing me tears
Got nothing to tell you, I’ve got nothing much to say
Only I’m glad to be here with you
On this heavenly, heavenly, heavenly, heavenly
Heavenly day, all the trouble’s gone away
Oh, for a while anyway, for a while anyway
Heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.
