Project

Some time ago I posted this photo from one of my favorite spots. Le Chaille (hope that’s spelled correctly) Right now they are struggling like many companies — the last time I visited the grounds weren’t nearly as lovely.  But this was from a couple of years ago.  So I used one of Kim Klaussen’s textures to distress it a bit.

The event that I have been so anticipating is finally around the corner.  I am excited to meet up with long time blogging friends and see all the beautiful sights and festivities!!  However I have been haunted by the one project I had MONTHS to get compleated.

I was to make 3 hand made journals.  I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to art or crafts and these books tortured me.  I must have tried 10 different ways to do them. FINALLY I just had to give up.  I had to get them done and accept they are not perfect.

I used the above photo for one. And a similar shot for another.  Each one is a bit different but all have the same theme.

The theme of the event is one of whimsey and fairies. Thus the “happy ever after theme”

Similar in colors and Theme — but just enough difference to make them each unique.

These are the backs of the books — I also lined the inside covers (front and back)

Life has definitely taken a BIG turn for me. I am determined to stay focused on the wonderful and beauty around me.

I look forward to coming back with tons of photos of the Smoky  Mountains.

Caio till then!

Beautiful, Claudia! They look like perfection to me! Enjoy your trip, soak it all up, photograph the Smokies (which should be beautiful this time of year) until your camera goes on strike and then come home and TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT!

    Hugs,
    Dotti

What are you talking about? I would be pleased to have one of your journals. Even though I’m not signed up for any, lol.
Are you really a perfectionist? OMG… I am so NOT.
Why am on on here when I’m not even packed??? I just got up. Valiumed up last night.

I have been to La Cai (not sure of the spelling either, so I’ll do it this way). In fact, when I worked at the courthouse downtown SLC, we had a big case that La Cai was involved in….marketing stuff (boring)

The books look fabulous….looks pretty much like perfection to me.
Enjoy your trip in N.C. It will be fairy tale like indeed I think.

  6. Claudia, these books are amazing. You are so talented. La Cai looks so lovely, almost like a Thomas Kincaid painting instead of a real place. Your texture is perfect.

Oh, have fun meeting your blogging friends, I know that you will have a beautiful time. Can’t wait to see those pictures.

    Good Morning Claudia Sweetie…
Oh I am so excited for you to be going to this wonderful event. How exciting to meet Clauie and Jeanne. I am so envious of you. Please give them both a hug from Miss Country Wings, especially Claudie with the recent loss of her sweet Momma. I am so thrilled Randy is sending her along anyway, she so needed this time with you all.

I love your journals. They are absolutely exquisite. You have done a beautiful job sweet girl. Sometimes I think you are afraid to let your inner self go. You have SO much creativity inside of you. Yes you do.

I will be waiting for wonderful pics from this glorious event. I know it is going to be magical. Your camera will be clicking away.

I am so happy to be back blogging. When my computer died, I couldn’t blog, so sweet Marydon and Harold bought me an early Christmas present. I am so thrilled with this laptop, and once again blogging away.

Talk to you soon sweet friend, Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

Where are you off to and with whom?! Details, woman, we need details! You will have no difficulty staying focused on the beauty around you surrounded by friends in the Smokey Mountains! Looking forward to those photographs.
    Your journals are beautiful. Your friends will treasure them. I LOVE them. {You should consider selling these — I’d buy a few!}
“Le Chaille” looks like a magical place. I will have to google it and learn more.
