Welcome to Friday~~Finding Beauty
I finally completed a project I have been working on for a bit.
I posted a while back that I had decided to create ART from some of my photography.
I have always loved art work on my walls and decided when I made this last move to my new condo, I was going to start putting my money where my mouth was– finding beauty in ourselves and our passions, and get my own work up on the walls.
So, I took a step off the cliff and enlarged a photo (see previous post). I think it’s something along the lines of 36″ by 30″
I had so many frames from my previous ”purchased” art that I thought I could just put it on of those frames. I tried and tried– I just couldn’t make it look right.

So I headed to Hobby Lobby (see above) chose the colors of matt and frame and had them put this together for me.
I have to admit I was nervous about investing a good spot of money on this — the negative monster that pops into my head too often kept asking me “what if you spend this money and you hate it?”
But I didn’t!
I have to honestly say I enjoy the way it turned out and how it looks over the sofa.

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to do this, but surrounding myself with MY work is inspiring and very uplifting to my spirit. I smile when I walk past these.
Try taking one of you photos that you enjoy (a place you love that brings wonderful memories or just an artful shot) and enlarge it– I challenge you– something bigger than 8×10 — I am betting on you that you will love it.
You will enhance your home AND your heart.

These last couple of shots are simply so my sis in Montana could see up close.

“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again.
And what do we teach our children?
We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France.
When will we also teach them what they are?
We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are?
You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you.
Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move.
You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven.
You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel.
And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel?
You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children.”

Just a thought to give you mid week as we join together with Susan from A Southern Daydreamer.
And REMEMBER!!! See you on Friday~~Finding Beauty

Monday Monday means that I am hangin with Mary at Little Red House where she spotlights all of us doing Mosaics!
I couldn’t resist still playing around with the beautiful flowers that were surrounding me lately.

Remember this Lovely Lilly?
Admittedly as I try and complete about 3 posts a week I am taking the LESS creative route and not using my Photo-shop as much. I have really enjoyed using Picnik– where I can edit swiftly and for the most part I like the out come.

Look at her in Black and White…. *sigh*! She looks like she has gone from “spring fling” to “Sexy evening all dressed up“!
Today I found a delightful new blog that inspired me! (in essence I am borrowing her idea) but giving you a link to go check out her fun and fanciful blog. Many of you probably know the MUSE.
Her suggestion was to choose ONE word (put in the comments) That WORD needs to start with the First Letter of your name! Scroll the other comments and see if we can keep this going without duplication.
Have fun and have a wonderful week!

Welcome to Friday~~Finding Beauty
or better known as FFB
I was so excited with everyone who joined with us last week. Thank you and Thank you AGAIN!
Each of your posts inspired me.
This week I received such a sweet email– and with Susan’s permission I am going to share it.
Dear Claudia,
I have been reading and watching your blog for months now. I have really enjoyed your photography and sense of humor. But when you announced your new meme I was a bit tired and thought, I just didn’t have time for one more commitment. You said two things that stuck with me. 1- You said we didn’t have to commit to doing this weekly — only if we found something we thought we could share. And 2– you said Beauty is there whether we notice it or not. If we take the time to notice, our life takes on an enhanced version. It’s no longer typical, it’s lovely and can be extraordinary.
I kept saying that quote over and over in my head. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Well, it has change already. Saying that quote has changed how I look at my life. It is beautiful and I am noticing it more.
I don’t know if I will participate with you every Friday, but I will try. Just know that you have started something in one person and I thank you for helping me see the beauty in my life and paying attention to it.
Sincerely,
Susan
Wow… I was touched and very thankful that she had taken the time out of her day to share those feelings .

With all the snow around me lately, even enjoying it like I do; I’m posting some lovely flowers.
Aren’t they beautiful?
But what is most importantly beautiful to me was the thought behind them. My sweet sister in Montana sent these to my mother for her birthday. When “they” say it’s the thought that counts– well it sure does.

I even bought myself some yummy flowers to brighten my new “home” — sure enough they did their job!
Dang if I can’t find it– but I read a blog post this week where a woman was taking great shots of natural ways the world SMILES at her… it was such fun. (if any of you know the blog let me know and I will credit her) It made me think!
When you change the way you look at things — The THINGS you look at change

I am serious as a heart attack when I say once I unbagged my groceries I looked down at this smile! I had read that keeping bananas from touching one another keeps them fresher… well they smile pretty well too!
Please stop by Beverly’s Pink Saturday and join in the fun over there too!
